Sub-Floor a Must
Husky hardwood floors re recommended for installation over a wood sub-floor and not directly on concrete surfaces. Wood sub-floors must be prepared as recommended un the Husky installation guide, and as per recognized trade techniques. Improper sub-floor preparation may result in moisture-related problems not covered by this warranty.

Installation

Season's Hardwood Flooring MUST be installed on the ground floor or above. Basement installations are not recommended and will VOID the warranty.

NOTE: An existing wood floor can serve as a subfloor. Drive down any raised nails, re-nail loose boards and replace any warped boards that cant be made level. Sweep and clean the floor well, BUT DON'T USE WATER

Acclimate

To minimize the expansion or contraction of your hardwood floor, it is recommended that the building should be well ventilated and relative humidity level maintained at 45% all year long. Before you begin, plastering and cement work must be completely dry. it is strongly recommended that the wood be left to accimatize at building temperature for a period of at least 48 hours at the ideal relative humidity level which is 45%.

Seasonal Shrinkage & Expansion
Seasonal shrinkage and expansion are common in wood flooring - it is not a flaw or due to an installation problem. Variations occur because wood contains moisture whose content will vary depending on the surrounding environment.
This is why relative humidity in the home should be 37 to 45% year round.
In the winter season, heating systems are turned on and doors and windows kept closed which dries up the air causing the wood to shrink and gaps to appear between boards. This is no cause for alarm, its a normal effect. The use of a humidifier can help the situation.
In the summer when the moisture fills the air again and is absorbed back into the wood, expansion occurs and wood floors return to their original state.

Regular Care Essentials
1- Sweep or vacuum regularly
2- Apply a hardwood floor cleanser directly on the mop and not on the floor.
3- Never use wax, oil-based soap or other household cleansers.
... They dull the finish or leave damaging oily film.
....Plus, these products can make the floor slippery and harder to maintain...
....and harder to redo without in-depth sanding and complete refinishing.
4- Never allow any spilled liquids on the floor
5- Glue felt pads to the legs of furniture and chairs to avoid scratching
6- Do not wear high-heel shoes on hardwood floors

Gloss Level
Our standard gloss level is semi-gloss. The full range of gloss levels available are as follows:
a- Satin = 30% sheen
b- Semi-Gloss = 55% sheen
c- High-Gloss = 70% sheen
